Inscription reads "Amelia C. S. Williamson 1886." There is also writing on an early page that appears to be a math equation: "1950 1870 80." Various paper clippings have been inserted within the pages. There is a newpaper clipping titled "Gold Cloth" signed Queer, Quaint, and Quizzical and a clipping containing various advertisements, including the Philadelphia & Reading Railroad. There is a handwritten note dated October 23, 1968, reading "This book was the property of Amelia C. S. Williamson, grandmother of the late Rev. Albert Edward Shadd of Washington, D.C. I Agnes M Shadd his widow wish to dedicate the same in memory of his deep devotion to his religious beliefs and philosophy of life."
